Chairman Bill Burlingame call the meeting of the Town Board of Koshkonong Township to order at 7 pm. The clerk verified the proper postings had been made.
Chairman Bill Burlingame, Supervisors Jim Brandenburg, Walt Christensen, Erik Hoffman, Matt Hill, treasurer Caitlin Kincannon, Clerk Bridget Woods and Administrative Assistant Kim Cheney present.
Town Board Election Results. Clerk Bridget Woods congratulated Chairman Burlingame, Supervisor Jim Brandenburg and Supervisor Christensen for their re-election.
Other Business
Susan Long, resident asked if the Town of Koshkonong still has a planning commission. Chairman Burlingame acknowledged there is a planning commission in place. This commission mostly oversees subdivision related projects within our town. Supervisor Hoffman stated that he was a member.
Susan Long also asked if the Town has a road plan.
Chairman Burlingame stated that the town has a 3-to-5-year road plan, and that the Town is discussing a development of a 20-year road plan. Furthermore, the Town is applying for grants to help fund repairs of the Town’s roads.
Kim Cheney, resident asked to address compensation of our board members to be more comparable to other Town Board Members.
Susan Long asked for clarification of what the expenses are.
It was explained that the expenses are for the board member’s time when they are called from their homes to assist a resident in immediate matters of the Town.
MS. Cheney made a motion to increase hourly expenses to be raised from $15 per hour to $20 per hour. Peg Brandenburg, resident seconded the motion.
Chairman Burlingame requests that the board participate in the vote. Chairman Burlingame calls for a vote on increasing hourly compensation of board members. Vote is 11 yes and 2 sustained. Motion to increase hourly compensation carried.
Susan Long, resident asks that notices for Town Board Member elections to be more “findable”.
Chairman Burlingame acknowledged the need for easier search results within our website, and states that the Town’s website is being updated and will be revealed at our May 12 monthly board meeting.
Set Date for 2022 annual meetingNext Annual Meeting is scheduled for April 19, 2022.
