FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Starting with April 2025 Spring Election

The Town of Koshkonong is pleased to announce the implementation of Badger Books, an electronic poll book system, beginning with the 2025 Spring Election on Tuesday, April 1st.

Badger Books will replace the traditional paper poll books used during voter check-in at the polls. When voters arrive to vote on Election Day, they will sign in electronically using a touchscreen device rather than signing a paper poll book. Signatures are still required, and the exemption remains the same for those who with physical disabilities who are unable to sign.

In addition to voter check-in, Badger Books will also be used to register voters at the polls, print voter number slips, and record absentee voters

It’s important to note that the voting process itself will not change. Voters will still vote using paper ballots, and deposit ballots into the tabulator machine

The tabulator is not connected to the Badger Books in any way. Furthermore, Badger Books are not connected to the internet. They operate on a secure, private network within the polling place only.

We encourage residents with any questions to reach out to the Clerk’s Office.

TO RECAP:

  • Badger Books are electronic poll books.
  • They are not voting machines or vote tabulators.

Thank you for your continued participation in our local elections!
